National Black Pro-Life Union SAYS DEFUND PLANNED PARENTHOOD, NOW!

Black people know about racism. Most of us have experienced racism first hand at some point in our lives. Recently, there has been attention drawn to a You Tube video. A video that exposed the blatant racism of the Planned Parenthood organization.

In the You Tube video employees stated they were happy and even “excited” to take money specifically earmarked to kill black babies by abortion.

Black America must wake up and stand up to this racist organization that purposefully plants abortion facilities firmly in black and minority neighborhoods and urban communities — sometimes, right next door to schools.

PLANNED PARENTHOOD is the Nation’s largest abortion provider! Recently, they reached the ONE BILLION dollar mark! One billion dollars in one year!

But did you know that more than 300 million dollars of that money was given to this organization last year by you and me?

Planned Parenthood received more than 300 million of our tax dollars in federal funding!

They also receive millions in public donations, not to mention the millions in blood money from dismembering the bodies of innocent children — black children and other children by abortion. These beautiful children are still warm — their hearts still beating — when their little bodies are dismembered.

Many of our aborted children have been butchered further and sold for body parts. It’s a horrible truth — but truth no less!

Here’s what I want to know — why are our tax dollars going into a pot to fund this racist organization?

LAST YEAR…thousands of Americans lost their homes due to foreclosed loans. Many home owners only needed 5, 10, 20,000 dollars to save their homes.

300 Million dollars could have saved a lot of homes!

In this country many of our schools — especially inner city schools are in shambles. 300 million dollars could have helped hire a few more teachers — and better teachers! It could have provided computers and other school supplies.

We have men, women, children — whole families — old and young — living in the streets! I’ve seen them–you have seen them–right here in our Nation’s Capitol–fellow Americans — destitute and homeless. 300 million dollars could have provided housing and shelter for these Americans.

Many of our elderly can’t afford the prescription drugs they need to stay vital, independent and healthy. 300 million dollars could help provide some of those drugs or help relieve spiraling medical debt.

But instead, more than 300 million dollars–our tax dollars went to Planned Parenthood–a racist abortion provider that makes much of it’s blood money slaughtering innocent children.

I am here today to say the buck must stop here! Federal funding to Planned Parenthood must be stopped–and must be stopped NOW!

Day Gardner Comments on Abortion Man Video

Some have said the You Tube Abortion Man video produced by Damon Wayans was done as a joke. Unfortunately, it is a misguided attempt at being funny.Let’s think about the story line here — a young woman is happily looking forward to becoming a mother when she is unexpectedly attacked, brutally beaten, punched in the abdomen and then stomped on until her crying baby is aborted. The truth is the You Tube video depicts the growing number of violent attacks on pregnant women and their unborn children. The video is not only insensitive and demeaning but also down right stupid.

In the Wayans video the father of the child is a video game playing, couch potato, “nigga” (as they refer to each other). It brings to mind the early days of Hollywood when the only roles offered to blacks were roles of simple minded, lazy, no account, watermelon-lovin’ darkies.

I remember laughing nervously at Steppin Fetchet’s bulging eyes and the way he walked slumped over, mispronouncing the most basic words as he spoke. Even as a young girl something seemed wrong to me. I remember feeling uncomfortable and saddened by the portrayal. In those movies black women were always maids who cared for, weaned and raised white children yet were rarely seen nurturing their own.

Those negative roles were created by whites to sustain the popular belief at the time that “coloreds” were small minded and ignorant. Talented black actors were degraded and treated with the utmost disrespect.

The Abortion Man video reminded me of those old studio days with the greatest difference being that today the stereotypical stigma is not coming from the old studio system—it doesn’t have to—because today we are more than happy and go to great lengths to degrade and disrespect ourselves.

It seems no matter how far we’ve come—no matter how educated we are – no matter how talented and successful black “Hollywood” families have become, shamefully, some of us still don’t get it.

The truth is we are better than that.

Should America be “Punished” with a President Who will not Stand for All of Us?

Recently, while campaigning in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, Barack Obama made this statement:

“When it comes specifically to HIV/AIDS, the most important prevention is education, which should include — which should include abstinence education and teaching the children — teaching children, you know, that sex is not something casual. But it should also include — it should also include other, you know, information about contraception because, look, I’ve got two daughters. 9 years old and 6 years old. I am going to teach them first of all about values and morals. But if they make a mistake, I don’t want them punished with a baby. I don’t want them punished with an STD at the age of 16. You know, so it doesn’t make sense to not give them information.”

First of all, I will never call a baby a “mistake,” we are all put here for a reason. But that aside, aren’t we supposed to help our children learn from their “mistakes?”

For every child who gets into trouble from something as simple as being late to class or as serious as a DUI, and worse–there will always be consequences.

Sometimes the consequences may be a school detention or a driving suspension–unfortunately, depending on the “mistake” the consequences may include jail time.

All parents would like to ensure their children avoid difficulties, but the truth is if we teach our children to learn from their experiences then we help to build character.

The consequences or circumstances a young woman may face with an unplanned pregnancy need not include the cruel and vicious killing of her child.

I know many young women who are wonderful mothers. We do not have to kill our children to have fruitful, successful lives. Also, there are thousands and thousands of loving couples who aren’t able to conceive children in this country and end up going to China, Africa or other countries to adopt babies.

Mr. Obama obviously doesn’t know very much about what an abortion really is–what it does to children–and what it does to the bodies of women.

If he did, I don’t think he would have spoken so casually and callously about snuffing out the lives of his future grandchildren or the traumatic health problems and depression his older yet–still beautiful girls would have to face.

America is filled with people who don the velvet robes of the every man for himself mentality; people who would sell their mothers–or kill their children to get ahead. Many Americans will take the easy road, short cuts–stepping on backs–crushing the bones of others along the way.

Then there are those Americans who stand up when commanded to stand down; Americans who work with sweat, blood, truth and many times tears to attain greatness.

There are Americans who place high value on each and every family member–each and every American whether black, white, yellow, brown or red–young or old, born and unborn. These are people who have earned “character” as their middle name.

“That’s what I hope for all of your future generations, Mr. Obama, both born and yet to be born, whether planned or not. That’s my America!”

The Audacity of Barack Obama

The National Black Pro-Life Union Comments on Barack Obama’s Perfect Union Speech, March 18, 2008
I am a black woman and like Mr. Obama and most other Americans, I am a product of generations of racial and cultural mixes and backgrounds. My ancestors also arrived here on slave ships–as did the ancestors of most African Americans.

Barack Obama’s heritage is no more “rich” than any of ours. The United States of America is overflowing with stories of struggles, hardships, wealth, triumphs, and poverty. We all have had ancestors that arrived here on slave ships or through Ellis Island. That’s who we are–we’re Americans and we all have a story to tell. Mr. Obama’s heritage is not unique.

Most Americans are also equally proud of fathers and grandfathers who served in the military in World Wars I and II, Korea and Vietnam. And whether you are in support of the war in Iraq or against it, we must continue to support the men and women who are willing to serve their country “our country” while putting their lives on the line. They are heroes in every sense of the word.

Mr. Obama said that he loves this country, yet my mind is still plagued by the image of a man standing on a stage with other presidential hopefuls failing to salute the American flag–a banner that unites us all.

I thought it rather amusing that Mr. Obama spoke at great length about racial discrimination, the lack of economic opportunity, poverty, segregated schools and the erosion of the black family along with just about every other way in which African American people have been wronged–I think he even threw in the kitchen sink. Yet, he failed to mention the racism of the abortion industry.

The man who wants to be President never mentioned the racism of an organization that purposefully plants abortion facilities firmly in black and minority neighborhoods and urban communities. We have lost more than 15 million black children since 1973–targeted and slaughtered by abortion and Obama doesn’t utter a word or bat an eye.

With all the attention drawn to the recent You Tube video, Barack Obama never mentioned the blatant racism of the organization that was “excited” to take money specifically earmarked to kill black babies via abortion. Are you asking yourself –why? The answer is money.

Last year Planned Parenthood, the organization in question and the nation’s largest abortion provider received more than 300 million of our tax dollars in federal funding. They also receive millions in public donations–not to mention the millions in blood money from dismembering the bodies of innocent black children and other children by abortion. Much of that blood money goes into financing political campaigns–get the picture?

Black children, White children, Hispanic, Native American and Asian children–5,000 of our smallest Americans are ruthlessly slaughtered by abortion every single day and Mr. Obama couldn’t care less–after all, they can’t vote.

Mr. Obama, these children have an American story, too; a story just as vibrant and colorful–just as rich as yours–maybe even more so…but their stories will never be told–you promised to see to that personally, didn’t you?

Letter to the New Governor of New York…

Governor David A. Paterson
State Capitol
Albany, NY 12224

March 18, 2008

Dear Governor Paterson,

We congratulate you in your new assignment and hope you will use your power for the good of all New Yorkers.

We are writing today to ask for your assistance in the black community across New York State. There is an injustice being done to African-Americans statewide. Through a particular bill that Eliot Spitzer introduced before he resigned his office, the Reproductive Health and Privacy Protection Act (RHAPP), the lives of millions of black children will be at risk and the rights of parents to protect their young daughters will be taken away.

According to the Centers for Disease Control, in 2004 there were 91,673 abortions performed in New York City alone. The CDC also reports that for every 1000 live births to black women, there are 472 abortions. Compare that to 161 abortions for every 1000 live births to white women. About 13 percent of all American women are black, yet the CDC reports they account for 35 percent of abortions nationwide. This is a disproportionate amount by any standard.

Planned Parenthood is headquartered in New York City. Just recently, they were caught on video and audio accepting donations from a transparent racist. In fact, the Planned Parenthood representative was “excited” to accept the donation and agreed with the racist donor that there were too many blacks. You can see the video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0LJVPVh5TWo

Planned Parenthood and their allies are major supporters of RHAPP. They say that it only “codifies Roe v. Wade.” They are wrong. In reality, RHAPP allows any health practitioner, including a social worker or nurse or dentist, to perform an abortion. It forces hospitals and doctors to either perform abortions or lose their licenses. It lets 12-year-old girls get abortions throughout all nine months of pregnancy without ever having to tell their parents.

The passage of this bill would make abortion devoid of any regulations in New York State and make it easier for anyone, including young African-American girls, to obtain an abortion. The bill is a direct threat to black families and the black community throughout the state. Planned Parenthood, which has no problem accepting donations to abort black babies, and their allies stand firmly behind RHAPP even though they are touted as “women’s rights” organizations. This bill is the opposite of women’s rights. In fact, it is downright dangerous to women.

As the Governor of New York, we urge you to join in solidarity with the black community and withdraw RHAPP from the New York legislature for the good of all women, parents, and their children in the state.

Sincerely,

Day Gardner, National Black Pro-Life Union

Racist Video Ignites Question: Brothers Barack, Jesse and Al…Where Art Thou?

By Day Gardner, President

Recently, a YOU TUBE video has surfaced that confirms what we have been saying all along. Planned Parenthood and abortion providers are more than happy and even “excited,” according to the woman in the video, to take money specifically earmarked to kill black children.

So, where are the brothers of blackness? Where are the self described “civil rights leaders” who are quick to jump on anything and everything even remotely racist?

This time, ”the three amigos” are silent because even though they know in their tiny cold hearts, that there is something very disturbing and wrong about this story, they are afraid to bite the hand that feeds them.

These so called black leaders would rather sell their souls–and close their eyes to the blatant racism portrayed in the You Tube Video–all for a buck.

Planned Parenthood is a multibillion dollar abortion provider that received more than $3 BILLION in taxpayer dollars since 1987–not to mention the millions the organization receives from its baby killing market.

Much of that money goes into backing political candidates who sit deeply and comfortably in the pockets of the nation’s largest abortion provider.

So why don’t we hear from Obama and those other guys? You get the picture. It’s obvious–and because it is so obvious, it would be funny–if it wasn’t so tragic.

Ahh. The sound of silence.

Today’s Battle- An Evil Worse Than Slavery

By Day Gardner

Black History Month is a time when African Americans especially–remember the trials and struggles of being born black in this country.  We as a people endured much in our journey for equality.  A journey which began many years ago on slave ships–through Jim Crowe years, through times of lynching and marches.

Throughout this month we also celebrate the many accomplishments and triumphs that we have achieved.  We have come a long way.  And along the way we became brilliant black investors, inventors, scientists, doctors and educators…, musicians, sportsmen and powerful speakers.  We have risen up from slavery to a point where we can hope and dream about holding the highest office in this land!  Against all odds, some may say we have arrived!

But have we…really?  Or are we closing our eyes to the fact that more than 15 million black children have been slaughtered since 1973?

While we look the other way—smiling, slapping each other on the back –PROUD of our accomplishments, abortion facilities are purposefully placed in inner city and minority neighborhoods, crushing the bodies of innocent black children.

Abortion is the number one killer of African Americans–killing more black people than all other deaths combined, yet, there are black men and women who stand in support of the vicious killing of our smallest children—all in order to win popularity contests, or for the coveted prize of becoming the 1st black President of the United States.

So, have we forgotten what the dream was all about?  Some of us have.  In this political season, we must drive home the fact that it really doesn’t matter when it comes down to it what party you belong to.

There are children dying!  Innocent children are being ripped apart; torn limb from limb–killed by abortion!  We don’t have to kill our children to ensure that we have better lives.   Therefore, we must make sure that political figures know this fact… IF YOU ARE FOR ABORTION…THEN WE ARE NOT FOR YOU—no matter what color your skin is!

Eliminating abortion may seem to some –a rather daunting task…to some it may seem impossible.  But I believe in GOD and with HIM I know that nothing is impossible.

Make no mistake…abortion is a civil rights issue.  We must strive to make abortion a terrible thing…of our historical past.

Who is Charles Barkley Anyway?

By Day Gardner, President, National Black Pro-Life Union

It is interesting that there is so much noise about Charles Barkley’s remarks about abortion and Barack Obama. Barkley made the comments last Friday in an interview with CNN’s The Situation Room news show and also referred to pro-life advocates as “hypocritical.”

He also stated that the word “conservative” makes him sick to his stomach. Really, Mr. Barkley? Conservative, conservative, conservative! (Just kidding).

Mr. Barkley was once a very talented basketball player, but this does not qualify him as a great thinker. If he were, he would understand that abortion is not a Republican or Democratic issue; it’s a simple matter of life and death. (Has he ever seen what an aborted child looks like?)

The good news is that there ARE many pro-life Democrats! There are Democrats of strong moral fiber who will not bow to the beast. There are Democrats who stand fierce in support of saving the lives of unborn children even at the risk of loosing the support by their political party. Unfortunately, Barack Obama is not one of them!

When Wolf Blitzer asked Barkley to explain his callous anti-Christian remarks, Barkley condemned Christians for wanting to be “judge and jury.” But that’s just it, Mr. Barkley–women who become pregnant are judging their own innocent child by making the determination that the child growing inside is somehow not worthy of life and therefore, sentenced to a horrific, violent death by abortion.

There are two victims in abortion –one dead, the other injured. Women need not kill their children due to fear or pressure from boyfriends, husbands or parents. Young girls and women need to realize that it is not necessary to kill their children to have productive lives.

Both mother and child are precious in God’s eyes! The word of God says pre-born children are people from the moment of conception, PSALM 139:13-16. The Bible also says if anyone harms a pregnant woman so that her baby dies–that person should be punished “an eye for an eye”, EXODUS 21:22-25.

So, who is Charles Barkley? He’s just a former basketball player, no more–no less.

Facing Down the Giant

By Day Gardner, President of the National Black Pro-Life Union, 202-834-0844

At one time the church was not only a beacon of light leading down-trodden and lost souls toward salvation…it was also the place where we became unified in our struggle for freedom and civil rights.

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., was like that for me. I remember sitting on the floor in front of our black and white television set mesmerized by this black knight in shining armor. I was raised in a God-fearing and God-loving home and Dr. King helped make God real for me.

I saw him as the David facing down Goliath whenever he marched for freedom and equality. It was somehow evident to me, even as a youngster, that this man was truly Spirit-driven.

I think one of the reasons I hold the memory of Dr. King so dear is because there are so few David’s in today’s church.

Today’s mega-churches come with hefty price tags and huge debt. Many Ministers are afraid of losing part of their congregation in a time when they financially can’t afford to lose them. Consequently, many church leaders preach a watered down message to their congregations. A message that will include the sins of adultery and prostitution, the sins of alcohol and drug use, the importance of tithing, and just about everything and anything else except the sins involving killing those who God says He knows “from the very moment of conception.” Psalm 139:13-16. They fail to teach what God says is the punishment for killing unborn children–”An eye for an eye.” Exodus 21:22-24.

Today, too many churches and too many black ministers close their eyes to the 15 million deaths of black children lost to abortion since 1973. Many pastors are not only they afraid they will offend congregation members who have had abortions, but also afraid they may offend many family members–wives, sisters, mothers, and daughters who have traveled down the road to abortion providers.

Church leaders need to realize that women who have suffered through an abortion are hurting and ashamed. What these ministers fail to preach is that abortion is NOT the unforgivable sin. They need to stand boldly as I believe Dr. King would have–shouting from the mountaintop that we serve a mighty Savior who can forgive ALL sin and will heal our pain.

I believe if Dr. King were alive today, he would not rest until every unborn child was granted his or her basic right to life.

We do not serve a wimpy God. Christians everywhere need to be reminded of that fact.

Abortion and abortion providers are the Goliath of today, but we are David–and we know how the story ends.
